This talk will be given by Dr. Michael Meyer from Ericsson Research in Germany.
and will have the title:

6G – Connecting a cyber -physical world

Abstract

The talk will cover the Ericsson Vision for 6G including challenges that should be addressed in the development of this technology. Main drivers that are required to be considered for 6G are trustworthiness, sustainability, automation and digitalization as well as limitless connectivity. It will be discussed how 6G can help to support the transformation towards digitalization. Promising technology building blocks will be highlighted and relevant research aspects discussed. Finally, research activities and standardisation plans will be put into perspective.

Biography

Dr. Michael Meyer joined the Research Department at the Ericsson Eurolab in Herzogenrath close to Aachen after obtaining a PhD degree at the University in Paderborn in communications engineering in 1996. He was active in various roles in development of 3G and 4G. Since 2011 he is heading the Research Department at Eurolab. In the corporate organization Ericsson Research he is responsible for the area radio network concepts with teams in Germany and Sweden. His focus areas are the development of concepts for future mobile radio networks and their standardisation as well as the application of mobile technologies for industry verticals for e.g.  production environments or automotive applications.
