CNI presents 6G rescue robotics test field at PMRExpo in Cologne
As part of the 5G Hub, CNI demonstrates 6G-based immersive robot control at this year's European trade fair for secure communication (PMRExpo) in Cologne. The live demonstration attracted a lot of attention on the first day of PMRExpo when networked robots were remotely controlled to secure a container with potentially hazardous substances. CNI discussed scenarios requiring highly reliable communication supported by future 6G networks with representatives from fire and police departments, aid organizations, construction machinery manufacturers and the energy sector to gather requirements from critical applications and to inform about current research activities such as seamless 6G multi-X connectivity as well as the evaluation of challenging network environments in disaster scenarios, which are carried out in the large-scale projects 6G Research Hub 6GEM and German Rescue Robotics Center (DRZ) generously funded by the BMBF.
CNI's booth on 6G rescue robotics is visited by a broad audience of representatives from fire and police departments, aid organizations, construction machinery manufacturers and the energy sector.
The robot is remote controlled using immersive 360° live video streams.
The demonstrator shows a sample challenge of teleoperated sealing of a container with potentially hazardous substances.
